Roots brought their unbeaten streak to four games on Saturday night in Las Vegas in a dominating fashion with a 3-1 victory. After controlling possession for much of the first half but unable to score, the second half was a different story. Las Vegas came out and scored only three minutes into the second half giving Roots the motivation to take more chances in the box. Just a short four minutes later, José Hernandez found the back of the net and opened the floodgates for the offense.
Less than ten minutes later, Chuy Enriquez was able to pull the team ahead with a chip over the keeper that was nearly cleared off the line by a defender from Lights FC. Shortly after, Jermey Bokila would come in off the bench, hungry to put himself back into the leading scorer position for Roots, and he delivered with a smooth through ball from Johnny Rodriguez. From there Coach Jordan Ferrell was able to bring in Akeem O’Connor-Ward and Matias Fissore off the bench to control possession and ensure the win was sealed.

Head Coach Jordan Ferrell:
Three games in a row where Roots have gone down early but come back to get a point or three points. What does that say about the character of this team?
Yeah I’ve been saying that the momentum is building. Last game we had a tough start but we managed to fight back into it and get a point. Tonight was difficult with the heat and the travel, all those factors. In the first half we were the better team. I don't think they created much, but it was unfortunate to go down three minutes into the second half. But the character of the group starts to show through and we could have hung four or five on them.
The importance of Jose Hernandez finding his rhythm:
Getting him on the field for us has always been a priority. We know he’s an important player for us. In the first half he played inside for us and in the second half came out playing out wide. The goal today was great, awesome for him to get the first goal in the shirt. I think that was a catalyst for us.
Getting Jeremy on the score sheet. How important will that be moving forward?
It's been stop/start for him. His first touch was off the post, he could have had another one or two. It's important for us to get him going. The ability to give different looks with Quincy, Bokila with Brandon. I think that's important for us with the congested schedule ahead.
The second goal might be the best team goal of the year. Talk us through that one:
Another important player we've been saying we want to get on the field is Lindo. The second goal from a team standpoint was incredible. But the fact that Lindo can find that pass in that moment says a lot about who he is as a player and how he plays the game. He left it all on the field. His brain, his technique and comfort in tight spaces and his ability to put his teammates in good positions and then Chuy for the finish. It's important for us to be able to play that way.
