Oakland, CA – Oakland Roots have signed Marco Brougher and Javier Mariona to USL academy contracts ahead of the game in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Brougher is a local Bay Area product from Los Altos Hills who most recently featured in the De Anza Force Academy for their U-17 side. The 17 year old just completed his Junior year of high school.
“Marco is a great example of high potential youth players that we are looking to bring into our First Team,” said Roots VP of Soccer Yamamoto. “As we identify top young talent, we hope that this direct path to first team football will accelerate their development.”
Javier Mariona is a 16 year old attacker also from Los Altos and Los Altos high school. Mariona has spent his youth soccer time with Silicon Valley Soccer Academy and De Anza Force Academy.
“Mariona is a talented young attacker,” said Roots VP of Soccer Yamamoto. “We are very excited about his potential.”
Welcome to the squad Marco and Javier.
