The Oakland Roots Home Opener scheduled for today at 7 PM PT vs. Memphis 901 FC is going to be rescheduled due to field conditions. Laney College installed a new turf football field in the offseason. The project’s completion was delayed by multiple weeks due to the Bay Area’s continuous storms. The work was completed late this week and the infill in the football field has not had time to settle causing our turf soccer field to not lay flat. The conditions of the field do not meet playability standards which led to the decision to postpone the game.
The game will be rescheduled to a later date to be determined. Fans who bought a ticket for this individual game will be provided an account credit for a future match. Members will use their ticket for the rescheduled game.
