Oakland Roots have added goalkeeper Zeus De La Paz as the 2021 USL Championship Season approaches. A Curaçao International, De La Paz most recently featured for Oldham Athletic of League Two in England. A product of the PSV Eindhoven Academy, De La Paz has previously played in the United States for Cincinnati Dutch Lions of USL League Two.
“We are delighted for Zeus to join the team,” said Roots Technical Director Jordan Ferrell. “The experience he’s gained in Europe and North America will be vital in building a strong, stingy defense quickly in our first year together.”
De La Paz featured for the Dutch National Team at the U16 and U18 levels. Since then, he has become a full senior international for Curaçao having been capped as part of the CONCACAF side on two occasions.
“Life is a Canvas. You are the art. Everybody is unique as a person, equally so on the inside as on the outside.” said Roots' newly signed goalkeeper about the motto he lives by and tattoo on his neck with the word Art that inspired the video announcement.
