Midfield

Javier Bedolla-Vera is a 15-year-old midfielder from Newark, California and a product of 1974 Newark FC. Bedolla-Vera was part of the Project 51O squad in the 2022 season that won both the USL League Two Southwest Division and the UPSL NorCal Division.

The 33-year-old veteran brings over a decade of professional soccer experience, having played in both the NASL and USL Championship. Gibson was part of the San Francisco Deltas’ title-winning squad in 2017, adding championship pedigree to the Roots’ roster.  

Ali Elmasnaouy is a 19-year-old midfielder from Oakland, California. The East Bay United Bay Oaks and Berkeley High School highschool product will wear the number 45 for the first team. 

Riley was part of University of the Pacific from 2015-2018, leaving the university as the all-time leading goal scorer. The 27-year-old has played in the USL Championship for the past five seasons, most recently with San Diego Loyal. 

Daniel Gomez was the Project 51O Vice Captain in 2022 and is a Manteca, California native. His signing marks the first player to come through the USL League Two Project 51O team into the USL Championship first team and the third player to play for Project 51O and sign a professional first team contract following Joseph Restani and Tarn Weir. Gomez is a midfield product out of CSU Stanislaus in California’s Central Valley.

Wolfgang was born and raised in Redondo Beach California, and spent four years at Cal State Northridge. He was named part of the 2018 Big West Conference All-Freshman team. Before attending CSUN, Prentice spent time in the LA Galaxy Academy program and participated in the 2015 US National Team U-15 camp. Prentice spent most of the 2022 season on loan in USL League One with Northern Colorado Hailstorm, becoming a regular starter for the Third Division side. He made 12 appearances, scoring once for the Hailstorm.
