Oakland, CA – Oakland Roots today announced a partnership with BMW Motorcycles of Concord and BMW Motorcycles of San Francisco, ahead of the inaugural 2021 USL Championship season. BMW Motorrad has been producing motorcycles since 1923 and has served the community of Oakland and the extended Bay Area for decades.

In collaboration with BMW Motorcycles of Concord, BMW Motorcycles of San Francisco, Oakland based artists Vogue of TDK, Ginger Ann Schmidt of Kiss My G.A.S. Industries and Kellen Em Stunts, Oakland Roots released a custom co-branded bike today which will be featured at Laney on game days on E10 Street as well as at the Oaklandish flagship downtown store.

“After seeing an incredible display of scraper bikes at an Oakland Roots match, we were inspired to use the vibrant colors and color blocking of scraper bikes on the wheels of our project bike,” said Eric Wight, Dealer Principal at BMW Motorrad. “Hopefully, the scraper bike community can see this bike and its wheels and recognize that their creations were our inspiration. The positivity and engagement opportunities that scraper bikes provide to the youth in Oakland can be truly life-altering and we hope this motorcycle will increase awareness of and participation in the scraper bike community.”

“Following a years worth of planning and collaboration, we’re excited to officially release the custom co-branded bike today with BMW Motorcycles of Concord, BMW Motorcycles of San Francisco and local artists from Oakland. A significant amount of work went into the smallest details to ensure the bike reflected the diverse colors and spirit of The Town,” said Taylor Beggs, Oakland Roots Director of Partnerships. “The bike possesses unique characteristics similar to our pro athletes, such as high performance, immense acceleration, adaptability, and extraordinary energy efficiency. We look forward to providing our fans with the opportunity to interact with the bike at our 2021 jersey launch as well as other innovative pop up activations throughout the year.”

Make sure to visit Oaklandish Downtown (1444 Broadway Oakland CA 94612) to check out the Rooted nineT. The bike will also live at every home game this 2021 season.
