IKEA Emeryville Partners with Oakland Roots and Soul Sports Club to Create Inspiring Spaces for Club and East Oakland Community
Oakland Roots and Soul Sports Club today announced a new partnership with IKEA Emeryville to help transform spaces across the organization’s Alameda headquarters, while extending the power of creativity and design into the East Oakland community.
As part of the partnership, IKEA Emeryville will provide furnishings and design solutions for the Oakland Roots and Soul front office and technical teams’ offices, creating functional, welcoming environments designed to support the people who power the club on and off the field.
The partnership will also provide new furniture and art supplies for the East Oakland Art Center, helping create an accessible, inspiring space where local youth and community members can explore creativity and express themselves through art.
“Oakland Roots and Soul has always believed the environments we inhabit are deeply important—whether it’s the pitch, our workspace, or in our communities,” stated Andrea Lepore, SVP, Brand Partnerships for Oakland Roots and Soul Sports Club. “Partnering with IKEA Emeryville provides our team with the tools to perform at their best. Simultaneously, it supports imagination, and new possibilities for youth in East Oakland. This joint effort highlights our mutual belief that good design holds the power to transform how our community engages and creates together.”
“At IKEA, we are dedicated to creating a better everyday life for people while supporting our local communities. As a purpose-driven sports club, Oakland Roots and Soul SC share the same vision of uplifting and connecting the community. IKEA Emeryville is proud to partner with Oakland Roots and Soul RC, bringing together two local favorites to foster togetherness and joy throughout the East Bay.” said Arda Akalin, IKEA San Francisco Market Manager.
