“Our commitment to the people of California has never been stronger,” said Beth Andersen, president of Anthem Blue Cross Commercial Plans. “We are dedicated to not only meeting the immediate needs of Californians but also supporting long-term recovery efforts. Together with our partners, we aim to rebuild our communities, restore hope, and ensure a resilient future for everyone affected.”
As of April, we’ve given more than $7 million of our fire relief funds to 37 organizations, helping our neighbors in Southern California. We are also working with these groups to provide important support that includes mental health care and rebuilding homes.
The fires are no longer burning, but people are still healing, and the recovery continues. We’d like to thank the organizations, first responders, community members, and our Anthem associates that showed up when it mattered most.
Let’s uplift our communities in California
During the 2025 season, Anthem Blue Cross and Oakland Roots continues with our Random Acts of Kindness initiative. Recently, we surprised Markham Elementary School with a bagel breakfast during Teacher Appreciation Week.
