Oakland Roots SC and Soccer United Marketing will hold a media availability Monday, August 4th to celebrate and promote the upcoming September Weekend of Soccer in Oakland as the Mexican Men’s National Team takes on Japan at the Coliseum on September 6th in a battle of two World Cup-bound teams, while Oakland Roots host Pittsburgh Riverhounds on September 7th. This marks the first time since 2011 that the Mexican National Team will return to play in Oakland at the Coliseum.
The afternoon will feature photo ops and an opportunity to interview special guest, Mexican goalkeeping legend Moises Muñoz, who was raised in nearby Redwood City, CA, as well as Roots Head Coach Benny Feilhaber and Mexican midfielder Jurgen Damm.
