Oakland, CA – Oakland Roots and Soul SC announce new partnership with Oakland based soccer development platform, Golden Boot Academy. Golden Boot Academy is a community driven soccer development program designed to empower young athletes to reach their highest potential. Golden Boot is the premier training program for children to adults with PRO aspirations. Golden Boot Coaches include former Oakland Roots SC player Yohannes Harish and former Project 51O captain Abduhlahi Mohammed.
“Golden Boot has deep roots within our local soccer community having played and coached in the area for years,” said Oakland Roots Technical Director Jordan Ferrell. “It is special to see former Roots and Project 51O players now driving the technical development of our current players.”
Golden Boot Academy works with athletes of all ages as they go through their athletic journey. They are a set of coaches that have been through the rigorous and demanding field of athletics with backgrounds ranging from professional soccer with Oakland Roots, to professional soccer overseas, to playing for respected universities in California. Their main goal is to strengthen our community through developing athletes and positive individuals by providing a platform for them to grow and become successful. The end goal is to help these athletes get scholarships to colleges or go on to become professional athletes. With a good support system and some hard work, anyone is capable of achieving what they put their mind to.
“Being a big part of the Oakland and the Bay Area soccer ecosystem and having a personal connection with Oakland Roots I believe this partnership will only bring an even higher level of recognition to the Oakland community. With our expertise in technical development we believe we will bring great knowledge and help the teams excel,” said Nigus Solomon CEO and Cofounder of Golden Boot Academy. “I would like to give a big thank you to the coaching staff and Roots organization for trusting us to come in and help make a difference as well as be able to learn greatly from the coaching staff hands on. We are looking forward to getting started.”
