Oakland, CA – Oakland Roots SC have signed Ilya Alekseev to an Academy Contract with the first team. The Project 51O standout is a graduate of Amador Valley High School, having been raised in the East Bay city of Pleasanton. The Ballistic United Soccer Club product was a leader on the Project 51O team that won the NorCal South Division crown in the fall of 2023.
“The club is very proud of Ilya’s progression over the past two years,” said Technical Director Jordan Ferrell. “This is a big step for him towards a new challenge with our first team, earned via his approach and performances in training and matches.”
Ilya Alekseev was born in 2005, growing up in Ballistic United from the age of eight until he transitioned to Project 51O following his participation in the Roots Recognize Initiative (RRI) program during his junior year of highschool.
