Oakland Roots and Soul SC have run the most successful equity crowdfunding campaign in American sports. The campaign reached the initial goal of 2 million dollars in a week’s time and will close officially on Tuesday, October 31st, 2023. Since the launch of the campaign on September 13th, more than 2.4 million dollars have been invested into the club from more than 4,000 new owners from around the world.

The Community Investment Round has seen the likes of rock star and Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong, NFL player Josh Johnson, and Olympic and WNBA champion Ruthie Bolton join the ownership group, as well as former Oakland Mayors Libby Schaaf and Jean Quan.
The Community Investment Round saw over 1,205 Oakland residents investing, with new investors coming in from over 21 countries around the world.
