Oakland Roots Sports Club have signed Jeciel Cedeño to a multi-year contract extension. The Ecuadorian attacker has come into Oakland and made a massive impact to the teams attack becoming one of the top chance creators in the squad and the league. Since joining Oakland he quickly climbed up the charts as one of the team leaders in chances created and is currently second on the team.
“We have been incredibly happy with the acquisition of Jeciel,” said Head Coach Noah Delgado. “Since joining the squad he has been one of the best attacking threats in the league and offers us something with his ability to take on defenders 1v1 that we did not previously have. We are looking forward to his continued development with us here in Oakland. ”
Jeciel Cedeño was a mid-season acquisition that elevated the team’s ability to score goals both providing and scoring in attack. The 23-year old Ecuadorian is seen as a cornerstone to the future of the Club heading into 2024.
“Jeciel has come in and done exactly what we expected of him. His character and professionalism off the field has been just as impressive as it is on the field and he is a prime example of the type of players we want here in Oakland.” said Director of Player Personnel Nana Attakora. “Building around players like Jeciel with a long term vision allows us to create a cohesive culture for years to come.”
Vamos, Jeciel.
