
Oakland Roots to host Pride Night presented by Modelo at Laney College on September 3rd to coincide with Pride celebrations throughout the month in Oakland. Oakland Roots home games are a community meeting place and Oakland civic pride celebration where people from all walks of life are celebrated and can enjoy the beautiful game of Soccer.
The evening’s events will include a March to the Match starting at the Oakland LGBTQ Comunity Center with Roots Supporters Groups, a pregame Drag Show on East 10th Street hosted by our friends from Imperiales FC, as well as a celebration of Common Goals’ Play Proud campaign. At Half Time, Oakland Roots will be hosting trivia based on Oakland history and LGBTQ+ Rights with Oakland’s own Jeopardy Champion, Amy Schnieder. Proceeds from the trivia will go to the Oakland LGBTQ Community Center.
4:30 PM – March to the Match commences in front of the Oakland LGBTQ Comunity Center (3207 Lakeshore, Oakland, CA)
5:00 PM – March around the lake to Laney
6:00 PM – Drag Show on East 10th Street Block Party
7:00 PM – Kickoff
8:00 PM – Half Time trivia in support of the Oakland LGBTQ Community Center w/ Special Guest Amy Schnieder.

The Oakland LGBTQ Community Center is a multi-ethnic, intergenerational, LGBTQ community multi-service center, one of very few led and founded by African Americans, and the first in the state of California, and is the fiscal sponsor of Pridefest.
