Beast Mode is coming home. On Saturday, September 26, Marshawn Lynch and Artists Writers & Artisans (AWA) are bringing the world of BEAST MODE 510 to life in the city that inspired it. Ahead of the action-packed graphic novel’s October 6 release, AWA is teaming up with Oakland Roots SC for BEAST MODE 510 DAY presented by Dymatize, a one-of-a-kind match-day celebration at the Oakland Coliseum packed with fan experiences, local flavor, and a few Beast Mode-sized surprises.
From 5:00-7:00 PM PT, Oakland Roots SC’s popular H-Lot pre-game tailgate will get the full Beast Mode treatment, transforming into a celebration of the 510 ahead of the Roots’ 7:00 PM matchup against Phoenix Rising. Fans can check out local vendors and pop-ups from Oakland favorites, snap photos with larger-than-life BEAST MODE 510 inflatables, test their skills in the interactive Level Up Skills Challenge, meet Lynch himself, and receive a special autographed keepsake. Once the match kicks off, the Beast Mode action continues, with a few lucky fans getting the chance to take the field with Lynch during a special halftime promotion.

Inspired by the six levels of Beast Mode featured in the graphic novel, the Level Up Skills Challenge will put fans to the test with an arcade-style boxing-punch game, testing whether they have what it takes to reach Level Six. The first 30 fans to hit Level Six will score a Marshawn Lynch bobblehead, while the first six to reach the top level will earn the ultimate Beast Mode bragging rights: the chance to join Lynch on the field for a special halftime giveaway toss and take home an exclusive autographed keepsake.

Set in the city that raised Lynch, BEAST MODE 510 is a bold, 120+ page mature graphic novel inspired and guided by the Oakland icon and conceptualized by AWA Chief Creative Officer Axel Alonso. Written by NAACP Image Award-nominated author Sheldon Allen (THEY CHOOSE VIOLENCE, SPIDER-MAN: UNLIMITED) with art by legendary Eisner Hall of Fame artist Denys Cowan (ILLUMINATI, BLACK PANTHER, THE BOONDOCKS), the title transforms Lynch’s unmistakable “Beast Mode” mentality into a cinematic new hero rooted in loyalty, community, and unmistakable West Coast swagger.
At the center of the story is Beast Mode, the 510’s legendary fixer and freelance sleuth. Most of the time, he’s Level One cool. But push him far enough, and the dial hits Level Six, unleashing an unstoppable force of nature. What begins as a super-secret birthday surprise for his mother quickly spirals into a globe-spanning conspiracy, forcing Beast Mode to protect his family, defend his city, and take on powerful forces threatening the community he loves.
