The attacking midfielder most recently played for his hometown side, El Paso Locomotive. While with El Paso, Diaz made 12 appearances in front of his friends and family. This was followed by two seasons in USL League Two with Landeno Heat and Midland Odessa Sockers. Diaz made 31 appearances for the Roots in 2021 and started both playoff games, becoming the go to right back option for Oakland. In 2022, Diaz saw time as both a right and left wing back option, making 21 appearances with seven of those off the bench.
