Oakland, CA - Oakland Roots head down to Irvine, CA for the first time in the USL Championship as they look to get their second win of the early 2021 season.

Oakland Roots head into their fourth game of the season after an exciting match against Norcal rival Sacramento Republic FC that saw three different Roots players find the back of the net. Jeremy Bokila scored his second goal of the season, while Jesús Enríquez and Ariel Mbumba netted their first. Additionally, goalkeeper Luis Barraza made his first appearance for the team, having recently been signed on loan from New York City FC.
Ahead of the match against Orange County, Oakland Roots have announced one new signing to the team. Emrah Klimenta comes to the Roots from San Diego Loyal, where he spent last season. He brings a wealth of experience to the team, having appeared in over 100 games in the USL and seven matches for the Montenegro National Team. While born in Montenegro, Klimenta lived in the Bay Area upon arriving in the United States, making him another player with local ties.
Roots goalkeeper Zeus De La Paz remains on National Team duty as Curacao advanced to the second round of World Cup qualifying with a draw against Guatemala on Tuesday. Curacao is set to face Panama this Saturday, June 12th.
